(LOS ANGELES, California) -- Though most remember him for helping to create the Christian dance genre in the early 90's, Chuckie Perez returns with a more contemporary sound via his new band Everyday Joe. Originally released to iTunes, Everyday Joe has entered into an agreement with Nashville-based Elevate Music Distribution to bring their self-titled debut album to stores on April 12, 2013.
The 12-song album, produced by Perez and mixed by John Andrew Schreiner, includes a cameo from one of Christian music's most familiar faces. CCM mainstay Bryan Duncan shows up on the track "Waiting For You," lending his vocals along with the Love Land Choir. Early buzz is also building for songs like "Everything About You" and "This is Real," for which a music video will be released this spring.
Chuckie approached Scott Larson and Daniel Bowmen with the idea of forming Everyday Joe in the summer of 2011, after ministering together as part of a worship team at Amazing Life Church in Alta Loma, California, where Chuckie serves as pastor. Together, the band blends their worship roots with pop and rock. Everyday Joe is a departure from Chuckie's early days in CCM, but one that he's excited to pursue.
"I'm excited to be able to explore and express a different facet of my music," says Perez. "I look forward to sharing Everyday Joe's sound and ministry with everyone."
Beginning his career as "Chuckie P," the California-based artist helped open the doors for dance artists in Christian music. Releasing English and Spanish-language projects on a variety of labels including Essential Records and Diadem/Benson, Perez toured the U.S. with artists like dcTalk and the Newsboys, and launched numerous tours internationally. In recent years, Perez has been busy penning tracks for immensely popular network television shows including "One Life to Live," "All My Children," two film projects for Paramount Pictures and notable programming throughout Italy.
